This is Mason. He’s in my Preschool class for Sunday School. I saw him this Sunday in class and he says to me ” Teacher, you know what? I had a dream about you and the other teacher one night.” I say “really what was it about?” He proceeds to tell me that the other teacher and I were big giant scary elephants and we were chasing him and Parker (another little boy in my class) I ask him if we ever caught them and he tells me ” No because we run WAY faster than you!”
Wow! I didn’t know that I seemed like a big scary elephant to some of the kids. And I’m not sure if I should take offense to that story.
Another story for you: I was helping one of the boys in my class build a bigger tower out of duplos then all the other boys. Well, he was going to go on a hunt to find more duplos so we could build it bigger. Before he gets up to start the hunt, he looks at me and says. “watch these blocks you can’t trust these dudes over here.” Ha I love it.
I also heard one of the 1st graders coming around the corner to go into class say ” I’m a big thug.” I looked at him and said ” Do you even know what a thug is?” He smiles and looks at me and very proudly says “Of course I do. It’s a punk!”
I really enjoyed these few stories from this past week, They come up with some great ones! It gives me a good laugh every once in a while.
A few years back this was sent to me from someone and I found it very encouraging. So I decided to share it with you. It just reminds me of the ultimate sacrifice and love that Christ poured out for each and every one of us and how we take that great sacrifice for granted too much. Enjoy and be encouraged! Happy Valentine’s Day!
“The depth of My love for you is beyond human comprehension. The
sacrifice that was made for you was done from a heart of love for
you. There never was and never will be a greater sacrifice made than
what was made by My son for you. The pain, sorrow, suffering, agony
and the blood that was shed was done with you on My mind. You My
daughter are a part of Me, My family, the family of God. Oh how I
love you and how I love to spend time with you. As you continue to
seek My face and follow after my percepts and ways, you will see My
hand in all you do. You will have no need to fear your future,
because I your God have promised that I would never leave you or
forsake you. I am the author and finisher of your faith. The work
that I have started in you I will complete. This does not mean that
you will not encounter difficult and trying times. These times of
trials and difficulties are there for your benefit. They develop
character and godliness. During these trying times you may wonder
where I am. I am right there working all things for your good. My
daughter, what I desire from you is for you to trust Me completely.
As you do, you will see My wonders in your life. The future I have
for you is beyond your wildest dream. For I have said, “Don’t be
afraid, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I
will strengthen you. I will help you. I will uphold you with my
victorious right hand”. Go in My peace and experience life’s very
best!
Today I randomly decided to google myself (I know I’m Strange) But I was just curious what would come up. And I don’t know why I was kind of weirded out by this. But there is another Heather Schaffner that lives in Cincinatti Ohio. The fact that there is someone else out there with my name kinda bugs me… Don’t know why, it just does. What do you get when you google yourself?
I’m sure that there will be several of these kinds of posts from here on out but….I just couldn’t resist. Look at how sweet his smile is. I must say, I do beleive that I have thee cutest nephew ever!
Since my mom had been gone for about the past month (out in Denver helping my sis after the baby) I was home with all the men in my family. 2 brothers and my dad. There are many things that make this time interesting but I found one to be quite boring actually. Movies. Since the guys out number me they got to pick what movie to rent. Granted I was at blockbuster with Ryan when he rented this movie I knew I was going home to all guys and couldn’t rent some sappy chick flick. So what did Ryan pick out? This movie:
It was horribly boring. Not even the slightest bit entertaining (To me anyways) within the first 15 minutes I quickly got up from the couch and found something else to do. Something more feminine that is. The boys after watching it also decided it may not have been the greatest pick for a movie. But owell, I guess that happens sometimes.
But then I finally uplaoded my pictures off my camera onto my computer and came across this Photo:
Remind you of anyone famous? That’s right, Rambo… I distinctly remember taking this scarf and doing a “photo shoot” of all the different ways you could wear and use this scarf. Quite entertaining if you ask me! But I had to post this one because…well…it was a rambo themed week!
This day in history (January 22nd,1973) was a day that changed so many people’s lives. But not in a good way. This day 36 years ago was when abortion became legalized in the United States. It effected not only those who have had abortions but also those little lives that were so preciously created and formed by God and just so easily thrown away at such a small price. I was recently looking us statistics on abortion and how it has effected our country. Some of these statistics are quite shocking.
Total abortions that have been done since that day in 1973. The total: 45,000,000
The abortion ratio for unmarried women is 510 abortions for every 1,000 live births. For married women it is 61 abortions for every 1,000 live births (CDC).
47% of women who have abortions had at least one previous abortion (AGI).
In 2005, the cost of a nonhospital abortion with local anesthesia at 10 weeks of gestation ranged from $90 to $1,800, and the average amount paid was $413 (AGI).
17 states (AK, AZ, CA, CT, HI, IL, MA, MD, MN, MT, NJ, NM, NY, OR, VT, WA and WV) do use public funds to pay for abortions for some poor women. About 14% of all abortions in the United States are paid for with public funds (virtually all from the state) (AGI).
I read a quote that I found to be quite impactful. It reads “Killing is one of the worst crimes because of the impact it has on the victim. Killing deprives the victim of life. The loss of life is the greatest possible loss anyone can suffer because it deprives us of all the experiences and enjoyments that otherwise would have been part of our futures, which we now value or would have come to value. If the loss of our valuable future is what makes killing you and me wrong, then abortion is equally wrong, because it deprives the fetus of its “future like ours”.
Please help in standing up against those who are destroying the most innocent and helpless members of the human race.
Caedmon James Wiley Born January 8, 2009 at 12:08am. 4lbs. 4oz and 18 inches long.
I will post later the whole story of what happened and the true miracle of life that Caedmon was from God… ( I will have more time when back home. Right now I’m stealing every moment I can with the little peanut!)
My Lovely parents celebrated their 26th wedding anniversary on December 18th this year. My parents have been such a godly example of how marriage can work when focused and driven by a love for Christ. Knowing that not everyday may come easy. But everyday will be possible with Christ. I’m proud of them. Proud that they have been together for so long when many parents take the easy route and quite on each other. Proud that their marriage is centered on Christ. Proud that they have raised 4 kids who still to this day love the Lord. Proud that they are going to continue going strong for many more anniversaries to come! I can only hope that someday I will have a marriage that I can be as proud of as I am of theirs.
I love you both so incredibly much and hope the years to come bring much blessing, encouragement and adventure for you both!
That’s right. You read that correctly. It snowed late Wednesday night in the Lake Elsinore/Corona area. We had been watching the temperature all afternoon into the evening. It hovered at 36 for quite some time but it was still just raining. My brother and I left to go bowling with some friends around 9pm and as we pulled off the freeway onto Bundy Canyon the heavy rain finally became a flurry of snow! we rolled down the windows and enjoyed it while we drove. By the time we got done bowling at midnight it has stopped raining and everything was just wet. But the next morning when I woke up and started driving to work I pulled out onto the main road and much to my amazement all of Lake Elsinore/The Ortega mountains were covered in snow! It was absolutely beautiful and breathtaking. I just wish it would happen more than it does!
